Class Offerings

From our signature classical ballet curriculum to Christian Zumba, there’s something for everyone… toddlers, teens, and beginning moms alike.

Quick tip: the stars (**) means it’s a performing class! If it doesn’t have a star, students in that class will not perform in recitals or other performances. If it has one star (*), students will participate in the spring recital only. If it has two, they can participate in everything!

One more note: ballet students must be enrolled in the “choreo”(graphy) class that corresponds to their level to be eligible to participate in the recitals! No choreography will be learned in the ballet tech classes other than Baby Ballet, Ballet 1, and Adult Ballet.

For ages 2-6

  • This class is for our littlest dancers, and its syllabus was designed by our founder, Hannah Manwiller. Designed for ages 2 and 3, this class focuses on creative movement, complete with props and fun music.

  • This level is designed for the young beginner dancer, ages 4-6. Focus will be on learning basic terms, simple beginning movements, and proper technique and stretches.

For ages 6-9

  • This level is designed for young dancers, ages 6-9. Students will learn and technique, progressing movements, and a broader terminology vocabulary.

Our curriculum for this level has been inspired by Cecchetti Primary levels 2 and 3.

Students must be enrolled in the corresponding choreography class to participate in the recitals.

  • Lyrical makes up a large part of our studio’s repertoire, and is highly recommended (especially for young dancers).

In level 2, students will focus on expression, illustrating the lyrics of songs (hence the name), and bringing character and heart into their dancing.

For ages 9-13

  • In Ballet 3, students will learn and continue strengthening, conditioning, and technique exercises. More advanced movements and terminology will start being added to the students' repertoire.

Students in this level are eligible to begin pre-pointe.

Our curriculum for this level has been inspired by Cecchetti grades 1 and 2.

Students must be enrolled in the corresponding choreography class to participate in the recitals.

  • When female students reach Level 3, they are eligible to begin preparing for pointe shoes. In pre-pointe, they will be targeting core, ankle, and foot strength to begin preparing their muscles to take on the beautiful demands of pointe shoes!

This class is also extremely beneficial for boys, however, as it works to strengthen muscles and expand flexibility in ways all dancers need.

  • Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) was developed by Marie Walton-Mahon in 1990 when she found that, despite their dedication to their training, her students continued to struggle with certain crucial aspects of the arts. Her solution? Drawing from the most recent possible science, she began to create a groundbreaking program now known and recognized across the world and used by dance teachers, sports physiotherapists, and physical therapists alike.

Progressing Ballet Technique is highly recommended for all students age 9-13, and required for all students in intermediate and advanced levels.

  • Lyrical makes up a large part of our studio’s repertoire, and is both highly recommended and generally categorized at this age as “everyone’s favorite class!”

In level 3, students will continue to grow in creative expression and illustrating the lyrics of songs through their dancing (hence the name), but they will also begin to add more advanced contemporary elements to their movement, especially learning to illustrate lyrics based on counts surrounding the lyrics instead of the lyrics themselves.

They will also begin learning to take further ownership over their dancing through opportunities for intentional improvisation.

Progressing Ballet Technique is required for all students in levels 4 and 5.

  • This level is for older intermediate students. Serious focus and desire to grow must be displayed to remain in this level. Students in level 4 are encouraged to start pre-pointe if they have not already.

Our curriculum for this level is inspired by Cecchetti grades 3 and 4.

Please note that no recital choreography will be learned in this class.

  • For our most advanced and serious students, level 5 is inspired by Cecchetti pre-professional grade 5, and is taken en pointe.

Please note that no recital choreography will be learned in this class.

  • Once female students have had a year of classes, they are eligible to begin preparing for pointe shoes. In pre-pointe, they will be targeting core, ankle, and foot strength to begin preparing their muscles to take on the beautiful demands of pointe shoes!

This class is also extremely beneficial for boys, however, as it works to strengthen muscles and expand flexibility in ways all dancers need.

  • This class is the perfect leap from taking pre-pointe class to taking normal ballet class en pointe. It is highly recommended for level 4 students, and also serves as a great option for more advanced dancers who want to supplement their training with a little extra boost.

  • A collaboration of our intermediate and advanced dancers, ages 13+, that make up a large part of the performing face of His Feet Dance. They study lyrical, contemporary, and modern techniques together, learn advanced choreography, and focus on fast comprehension, full expression, and fluent improvisation.
